A proxy can connect and open the target website - but that does not mean everything is working properly.
The IP may be detected in a different country, belong to a data center instead of a mobile operator, appear on blacklists or have an excessively high response time. A misconfigured browser may also expose your real IP through DNS or WebRTC.
Therefore, it is best to check the proxy yourself before launching ads, logging into an account or collecting data at scale.

Add the proxy to an anti-detect browser, system settings or your working application.
Before connecting, note your regular IP. After connecting, it should change to the proxy's IP address.
For an accurate check, use the same profile and configuration you will use later. Testing in one browser and launching ads in another will not show the real picture.
Check four key parameters:
1. GEO
The country must match the one you ordered. The city may vary slightly across geolocation databases but a different region or country is a reason to replace the IP.
2. ISP and ASN
Check who owns the network. For a mobile proxy, a mobile operator should be detected; for residential, a home ISP; for corporate, a data center or hosting company.
3. IP Type
The stated proxy type should match the actual one. Do not use a corporate IP for a task where the platform expects natural mobile or residential traffic.
4. Reputation
Pay attention to blacklists and additional proxy or hosting indicators. One such signal does not always make an IP unusable but several matches significantly increase the risk of CAPTCHAs, restrictions and additional checks.

Important: response time is the response latency, not the connection's full download speed. For advertising and account work, a stable response time is often more important than peak megabits per second.
Do not test an IP just once. Run several tests in a row. If the response time is 300 ms now, 2 seconds a minute later and then the connection drops, such a proxy cannot be considered stable.

A DNS leak occurs when domain requests are sent through the real ISP's DNS servers while WebRTC may expose an additional browser IP if misconfigured.

Do not change the IP during an active account session unless necessary. For login, payment actions and work with an advertising account, it is better to use a stable sticky session and rotate between separate tasks.
